Plaza de España - Sevilla - Spain

A year ago I did a roadtrip with my cousins through the south of Spain. The Plaza de España in Sevilla clearly stands out between the places I liked the most. Its curved shape symbolizes the embrace of Spain to its former American territories, and looks towards the Guadalquivir river, as route to follow towards America. On the walls of the square there is a series of 48 benches that represent the 46 peninsular provinces and its two archipelagos. An interesting fact is that this place was used as a set for episode II of Star Wars. In a scene where Anakin takes Padme’s luggage when they arrive to Naboo, of course with the company of R2D2 (yes, I am a bit of a Star Wars geek). Definitely a must visit if you are planning to go to Sevilla!
